I became a naturopathic doctor because I wanted to help people in a way that actually made sense to me — by looking at the whole picture, not just one symptom at a time.
How I Got Here
My background is in psychology and biological anthropology — I've always been interested in how the body and mind work together, and why people feel the way they do. I also spent time as a personal trainer, which taught me something important early on: real change happens when someone feels supported, not lectured.
When I discovered naturopathic medicine, it brought everything together. Within days, I applied to naturopathic medical school. It was the first time I'd found a profession that matched how I already thought about health — that the body is connected, that root causes matter more than quick fixes, and that patients deserve the time and attention it takes to sort things out properly.
How I Work
When you sit down with me, I'm not just listening to a list of symptoms. I'm paying attention to how you describe what you're feeling, what your daily life looks like, and what your body might be telling us beyond the obvious. That's how we figure out what's actually going on — not just what's showing up on the surface.
My goal is always to create a plan that makes sense for your real life. Not a complicated protocol that sounds impressive but falls apart after a week. Something you can actually do, that addresses the cause of the problem, not just the symptom.
What I Focus On
Over the years, I've developed particular experience in a few areas — though as a naturopathic doctor, I see a wide range of concerns, much like a general practitioner would.
- Women's health — menstrual concerns, fertility, perimenopause, and menopause
- Digestive health — IBS, food sensitivities, acid reflux, and gut-related conditions
- Mental health — anxiety, mood, and the connection between gut health and emotional well-being
- Neurological concerns — including post-concussion recovery
- Family medicine — ongoing wellness support for all ages
What ties all of this together is helping people understand what's happening in their body, so they can make decisions with clarity instead of confusion.
What Patients Tell Me
The thing I hear most often is that people feel heard. That might sound simple, but for a lot of patients, it's actually been missing from their healthcare experience. I take the time to understand not just the physical picture, but what matters to you — your lifestyle, your stressors, your goals, and the things you're worried about. I think that kind of understanding is where real care starts.
A Bit About Me
I practice what I teach. After dealing with my own digestive issues for years, I learned firsthand how much nutrition and lifestyle choices affect how you feel day to day. I believe in consistency over perfection — eating well most of the time, enjoying treats without guilt, and staying active in ways that feel good rather than punishing.
Outside the clinic, you'll usually find me kayaking, hiking, doing yoga, or spending time outdoors with my family.
If you're looking for a healthcare provider who will take the time to listen and help you get to the root of what's going on, I'd be glad to work with you. In-person and virtual appointments are available.
